Tomorrow’s News, Tomorrow’s Journalists

Journalism.co.ukJournalism.co.uk has just launched a new group blog for student journalists, called Tomorrow’s News, Tomorrow’s Journalists (TNTJ). It’s open to anyone under 25 blogging about journalism and is a great way to build contacts, gain visibiity and, well, write.

One of its founding group members, Dave Lee, has been blogging on journalism-related issues for a while. Two things inspired Dave to suggest TNTJ. The first was the Carnival of Journalism, where established journalists (and some less established) blog about the industry. If you’ve not followed their debates and ideas, it’s well worth taking a read through. And secondly, one particular incident from America where a journalism intern, Jessica Da Silva blogged about cuts at her newspaper and got both applauded and criticised for doing it, insipired Dave to suggest the idea of a student group of journalism writers talking together.

Follow up with Dave (from his original post about the idea) or at the Journalism.co.uk blog for TNTJ. Meanwhile, over on the left, I’ve started a blogroll for student journalism sites you might find inspiring. If you find any more let us know, or sign up to contribute to this site.
