			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Of course today&#8217;s been dominated by the news of <span style="text-decoration: line-through;"><a href="http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/Sunderland-leapfrogs-Newcastle-in-lucky.4894168.jp" target="_blank">Sunderland leapfrogging Newcastle as lucky lottery city</a></span> Obama&#8217;s inauguration as the 44th president of the USA.</p>
<p>One of my favourite bloggers, <a href="http://dotearth.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/obamas-turn/" target="_blank">Andy Revkin at the New York Times</a>, draws our attention to the fact that the new White House administration has begun the new reign with an <a href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/change_has_come_to_whitehouse-gov/" target="_blank">Obama-blog</a>. Or, as Revkin asks, &#8220;although for the moment I don’t see a comment string there. Is a one-way blog a blog?&#8221;</p>
<p>Obama, well known for using social media to fundraise and organise along his campaign, including <a href="http://twitter.com/BarackObama" target="_blank">Twitter</a>, has famously lost his Blackberry on becoming President. Maybe a comments-thread on a blog is too much to ask? What do you think?</p>
